Cryogenic Labs

Ieti Cryostat

With a base temperature of ~10 mK, the "Ieti" cryostat allows the simultaneous operation of qubits and cryogenic detectors.

It is located in the HallC of the INFN Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (L' Aquila, Italy). The 1.4 km rock overburden suppresses the muon flux by a factor ~1 milion, and the neutron flux by a factor ~1000. Moreover, the facility is heavily shielded against the laboratory natural contamination, to allow the operation of our prototypes in an ultra-low radioactivity environment.

Its scientific responsible is Dr. Stefano Pirro of INFN-LNGS. More details on this facility can be found in the Ieti webpage.
